In Central Vermont and New Hampshire - 45 min. Rides Or 2, 3 and 4 hr. Tours With Our 35 Purebred Siberian Huskies
Ever wondered what it would be like to ride behind a team of traditional sled dogs? Looking for a unique and doable adventure? As a family? As a couple? With the grandchildren? With friends? As a gift? Long for a way to step away from the busyness of every day life? Love dogs? Scared of dogs? Wish you could reconnect with the peace and quiet of Nature? One of our dog sledding adventures is the answer! No-one is too young or too old; our youngest guest has been 1 and our oldest 91!
We offer rides and tours because we want to share the riches that our friendly hard working Siberian Huskies offer along with the adventures and companionship that they provide. To us, there are few things more therapeutic or exhilarating than riding behind a team of our canine partners on one of those blue sky, sunny, pristine snow days – or on one of those blustery days that require a few more layers of clothing – or on one of those nights with a bowlful of stars and the moon lighting the way – in other words, anytime! We love the thrill of the ride, but even more,
we are inspired and humbled by the working partnership and friendship we have with our dogs; it is always a collaborative effort. Judging by the feedback of our many guests, they agree!
EXCURSION OVERVIEW
We are educators by nature with a focus on quality. Our tours are designed to provide an in-depth experience. We will take the time to answer your questions, share stories, teach you some hands-on tasks such as how to harness, let you help as much as you would like, allow time to get that perfect photograph and, of course, the dogs will insist that you snuggle with them!
Each tour begins with 45-60 minutes of hands-on as we get ready for the exciting moment! Which moment? The one when the dogs are hooked up, you get on the sleds, and we say to the dogs, “Everybody ready?!” “Let's go!” The rest of the tour is on the trail. Everyone will have a chance to sit in the basket and to drive the sled. We will have a snack and rest break for people and dogs. And there will be plenty of time to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
Our tours are run with two sleds, 2 mushers and up to 24 dogs. Each sled can carry 2 adult passengers. Smaller children can sit on an adult's lap. Therefore, we can take four adults or a family of 4 or 5. We can also accommodate larger groups by picking up and dropping off 4-5 people at a time in stages along the trail. For the sake of the dogs, we have a passenger weight limit of 375 pounds per sled.
A part of outdoor activities is an inability to arrange the weather! We always run unless it is unsafe due to trail conditions or to severe weather. However, we know how to keep you warm and comfortable!
CUSTOM EXCURSIONS
This tour is tailored to your desires! Choose a length, setting and occasion. We've had a romantic Valentine's Day marriage proposal with fully decorated sleds, an 80th birthday celebration, gorgeous moonlit runs, short rides for groups of children, a rigorous 5 hour “guys night out” and a
“ladies day out”. Use your imagination! And brainstorm with us!
WHERE
We run on trails in various locations within an hour of our kennel in Windsor, VT. They run along rivers and through fields and pristine woodland often with scenic views. You will meet us at the trail-head and be greeted by your excited team of Siberian Huskies!

RESERVATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS
To book a tour, we ask for a 50% deposit. Mailed check or PayPal accepted. We've never had a cancellation – honest! Only reschedules. If you do need to cancel, our policy is this: full refund if done 10 days in advance. If we need to cancel for trail safety or extreme weather reasons, full refund.
RIDES
We offer 45 minute rides through our friend Craig at Great River Outfitters in Windsor, VT on Fridays and Sundays. These are short but exhilarating runs on a groomed trail in fields along the Connecticut River and are a great way to get a taste of dog sledding! They are also excellent for young children. The rides differ from the tours in that we do not offer the pre-run hands-on activities, but you will be able to take photos, say hello to the dogs and chat with us during the ride. It's a lot of fun!
